Graphic MX are a motocross graphic specialist who I have worked with on a number of commissions, some of which involved recreating graphics as vectors from low-resolution images.
The following is one such example and involved recreation of all elements show in this JPG except for the yellow background and cut lines for the panel shape, both of which were provided by the client.
A certain level of creative interpretation was required because of the low quality of the source image. How closely it had to match the original was an aspect of the dialogue with the client, which is especially evident in the small '250', in which a closest match to the font was agreed upon.
The following are photographs of the final image printed and applied to the bodywork of the motocross bike. The grey gradients behind the R and M were removed from the print file after final image delivery to match the colour of the bike seat, which was originally going to be grey.
